New toy (yay) canon 40d.

Reorganized the gallery and cleared out old less-good stuff.

First snow of the year, too.

Got a 17-40L on the cheap, it's crazy awesome - wide-angle landscape, but can focus down to about 6 inches for near macro. Also went to a new place, Innisfree gardens.

Been retouching some older stuff running it through RAW conversion and cleaning up the sharpness, color balances, etc.

Also added some new stuff from recent hikes.

Went out with the new tripod, fell down a ravine, hiked for a while through knee-deep ice water... and got some actual good HDR results, finally.

More messing with HDR. Not trying to make a real habit out of doing HDR, but I was bored and it was nice weather. Actually used my tripod this time, so most of them are 10+ exposure combinations.

Some more HDR which are acceptable, thought not great.

Next goal after returning from travel: Get a good, light tripod for carting around.

Finally some success with HDR techniques. Went to minnewaska after a storm which meant the sky was far more interesting than other trips.

So I've been lax about updating this when I go places. Go me.

Latest trip: Storm King. Storm King is an outdoor modern art museum with a 500 acre gallery. Most of the art is giant metal sculptures. I'm not sure I buy into a lot of the modern art philosophy, but if a piece of art is big enough to fall on me and kill me, it gets some significant credit.
